Nothing new

Nothing much is new right now. The kids had a week off from school last week and they went back today. I picked up my son's senior pics this past weekend. Oh my, I cried. It is hard to believe my son is graduating already. I feel old. Lets see, I am babysitting my niece and nephew for a few weeks. I love having little ones around again.

I am thinking about looking into the band for weight loss. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments on this I would love to hear about good and bad sides to it. I have tried medicines and I attended weight watchers as well. I have lost weight in the past, 35 pounds and then again 25. I always gain it back in between solutions. I know, exercise and eating right. That totally sounds easier than it is. I feel if you have always been good at exercising or sports then you always will be. I have never been one to be into sports and exercise all the time so I am a little heavier. I have to admit though, I love my food. I use it for everything, stress, boredom, EVERYTHING...

Well, got to go and get my house work done..Have a great day...

New Van

Well, we finally got new wheels. 2009 Grand Caravan, black, brand spanking new. I am so happy, it is beautiful. I was't sure what color I wanted but I ended up with black. I am happy with it because it looks sharp. The only thing with getting the black one, it has an extra few miles on it because it was at the Potsdam location, 40 minutes away. That is fine, the miles are only from getting it to me from there.

Everything is going okay around here. Ranisa had all this week off from school. She is ready to go back, along with me. We received her new Dynavox VMax computer system last week. I love it, but it is going to be hard to figure out. When I opened the box there was an instruction binder, yes I said binder. Not pamphlet, BINDER. I will be a year just reading the instructions on how to use it. I have been working with it and now it is time to start her on it. We are hoping she will take to it pretty good so she has a better way to communicate with us. As of right now she points, screams or gets frustrated and then ends up hitting or scratching us.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I will be back on next week sometime. Leave a message and I can get back to you.

DynaVox

Well, Ranisa's Dynavox came this week. Man, how confusing. I read through some of the book that came with it, a huge binder filled with instructions. I tried to play with it a little today but wow, I don't know. I am going to have to go to a class on how to run it.

If anyone has any suggestions, please, let me know.

Thank you,
Ann

Weekend

Wow, What a weekend. I was so busy this weekend. Friday night my son and I had to work at the school at a concession stand to earn money towards his senior trip. Then Saturday I had to work from 12-6 then had a break and back to work 9-3 a.m. . Then get up Sunday morning to drive to Massena for my niece's ice skating show. She looked so gorgeous. I can not believe how well she skates. She is only 5 and she is the the older group because she is so excelled. Then we went out to Chinese food and home. Nice long weekend.

Later Everyone...

A Little Bit Of Good News

Well, Finally I got a little bit of good news. Every night my husband and I go down to this and put our quarters in. We have a coke or a drink and put 50 cents in and sign our names into a pool. Well, the news is, last name my name was drawn and I won. That is pretty cool seeing how we need a vehicle and we owe $3000 out of pocket still on the loan. Thank you for who ever was looking out for us. Now we can pay a little bit on it.

Also, Ranisa is back to school today. She had a pretty good day yesterday with mom and dad. We went to the store and we had Ranisa push the cart. It was a little hard because she is as tall as me. We tried it for a few minutes. She did okay when we did it though.

Okay, I am going to get off here now, shower and get ready for the day.

Later to everyone...

Another day home

Well, she is home again today. Yup, I mean Ranisa. I think sometimes she stays home more then she goes to school, no not really. I can't wait to get her to her doctors appoinment, one thing I am going to discuss with them again, for 15 years now, bowel problems. What a topic to type about, but maybe another Angel parent would have a suggestion.

As I am typing this she just yelled to me, "MAMA", I love that. She only says three words really good, "mama, baba, Bubba". She used to say "Dada" until she started her seizures again at age 3. She does mumble things, we say she is saying things, but sometimes I have to admit, all the sounds are alike. I can hope and wish though.

I have been talking with another Angel mom and have been getting a lot of help with Ranisa. I love to be able to find that other parents are going or have gone through the same things that I am. I am getting a lot of great suggestions. I love it.

Well, got to get going for now. Everyone is more then welcome to leave a comment or just say hi.

Have a wonderful day,

Not a bad day

Well, Ranisa is off to school now. She wasn't too bad this morning. At least she let me get her ready for school, well, most of the way. That is progress. I just needed help getting her AFO's on this morning. She was pretty surprised I think when she got on the bus this morning. Her one on one aid showed up and snuck on the bus before we took her out. We knew about it, but Ransia didn't. We had it planned because Ranisa has been hitting the bus monitor a lot lately so we thought the only one that makes her stop that attitude is her one on one. Well, I guess, when she started hitting the monitor her aid walked out from behind a seat and spoke to her. As soon as Ranisa seen her she put her hands down on her lap and stopped the bad behavior, well, for a few seconds. She started in again, I think trying to show her aid that she CAN do whatever she wants. So, it really didn't work for us. We will have to try something new again.

I got Ranisa's youtube site going. I have posted a couple of videos on it so far. Ranisa is walking with her walker and feeding herself with a fork and taking a drink with a two handled cup. I love watching them because she will not do that stuff at home for me. Enjoy....
